Is your charity making the most of Facebook?

Facebook is the largest social media network in the world, and a great place for you to engage with your supporters.

Making a Facebook fan page for your charity is really easy, and is a great focus for your supporters who are on Facebook. You can even put a ‘Donate’ button on your fan page which will take your supporters straight through to your JustGiving page to make a donation.

You don’t need to be a computer whizz, and you don’t need lots of time. Don’t believe us? Have a look at the bottom of this blog post for our handy help document, carefully put together by Axel on our charities team.

This step by step guide also lives in our shiny new help and resources area, where you’ll find answers to FAQs, more how to guides, and some top tips too.

While you’re swotting up on Facebook, why not make sure your supporters are making the most of their fundraising with social media? We’ve got a bit of recommended reading for you and for your supporters:

How have you used social media to boost your fundraising? Share your tips with us by leaving a comment below.

This is great advice, and I'm really keen to get the JG badges on our page – but when I try to install the FBML app, I'm only given the choice of adding it to the page's favourites, rather than adding the app itself. Any suggestions of how I can get around this would be much appreciated!

Hi Emma – I've done some searching online and it seems that it might be because you are logged in with a business profile. Check out this link and scroll down to the comments section as there appears to be someone experiencing the same problem as you with some solutions:

Also see comment below that I found here: http://www.snipe.net/2009/06/fb-fanpages-fbml-box/

“For some reason I can not add this app to my FB fan page. Every time I go to the Static FBML app page, I only have the choice to add it to my favorites. when i log out of my company's page and login with my own personal account, I can see the add to page button, but when I log back in as my work, that button is gone…”

Hope these help, but keep us posted if you're struggling. Thanks
