Earlier this week, the JustGiving team shared some new insights into event fundraising at our Making Every Step Count workshop, in partnership with ACTIVE Network. During the workshop, we presented new data which shows that your fundraisers are powerful advocates for your cause on social media – each event fundraising campaign is seen by an average of 562 people on Facebook. That’s a lot of potential new supporters.
What’s more, we’ve identified something we’re calling the event fundraising ‘network effect’- the idea that fundraisers inspire others to take on charity challenges. Our research shows that one in four fundraisers will choose either to take part in the same event for charity the next year or will inspire a friend or family member to take part instead. So by encouraging fundraising, event organisers can encourage participation at their event as well.
The event was held at the Commonwealth Club in London, and offered charities the chance to see our new event registration and fundraising tool in action. If you missed it, you can see all the slides from the day below.
