Here’s how the Rett Syndrome Research Trust UK has done what it can to boost the fundraising efforts of marathon runner, Charlie Sharpe. Charlie is 22 and super-fit. His life couldn’t be more different from the lives of the girls and women he is running for, and yet he is doing what he can to make a difference. In support of his extraordinary efforts, the brothers and sisters of little girls with Rett across the country have come out in their droves to help him fundraise by making fab paintings, drawings, pictures and photos in honour of their sisters with Rett Syndrome.
The Rett Syndrome Research Trust UK has launched a fundraising competition to help them help Charlie. The charity is posting the pictures from these fine young artists on its Facebook page between now and marathon day (Sunday 17th April). Supporters can vote for the picture they like the most by chipping in just £2 to the ’Chip in for Charlie‘ JustGiving page.
As a result of the efforts of these amazing brothers and sisters, Charlie’s total has increased by almost £800 in eight days! Anyone under the age of 18 can submit a ‘Chip in for Charlie’ picture by emailing a photo of the pic to enquiries@reverserett.org.uk. The competition runs from now until 16th April with the prize for this competition being donated by Harrods.
