In September we launched our Facebook Like-athon, which offered JustGiving fans a helping hand with their fundraising. A charity donation of up to £400 was up for grabs for those who spread the word about the JustGiving giving community on Facebook .
Thanks to some really dedicated fundraisers, we’ve welcomed over 3,000 new fans to Facebook over the past month. So we’re very pleased to announce the winners of our 2011 Facebook Like-athon:
Tracey Doogan – wins £400. Tracey is raising money for Bliss, the charity for premature and sick babies, in memory of her daughter Elle McEwan, who was born premature. Tracey supports Bliss to help other premature babies and families going through the same heartbreaking experience.
Nicola Lawlor – wins £300. Nicola is raising money for Evelina Children’s Hospital Appeal, the hospital that treated Nicola’s 20-month-old daughter when she was seriously ill with Group A streptococcal septicaemia. Nicola’s daughter Evie suffered acute kidney failure, but thanks to the care of many teams in the hospital she survived this terrible illness and is doing very well now.
Kirsten Greaves – wins £200. Kirsten has set herself the major challenge of trekking from coast to coast in Costa Rica in November on behalf of Katharine House Hospice in Stafford, which looked after Kirsten’s grandmother.
Ashley Saunders – wins £100. Ashley and her father are taking part in the Great Ormond Street Hospital Inca trail trek in November to raise money for the Children’s Charity (GOSHCC).
Lizzie Stagg – wins £50. Lizzie is also fundraising for GOSHCC and will be running the BUPA London 10k in 2012 in memory of her cousin’s son Oscar, who was diagnosed with Barth Syndrome.
Congratulations to all our winners and thanks to everyone who entered!
