If you’re running in the Great North Run next month, there will be a few famous faces joining you for the 13.1 mile challenge.

Yep, this year you’ll be up against double Olympic gold medallist, Mo Farah. Mo will be looking to continue his winning streak as he takes on the world’s greatest ever distant runner, Haile Gebrselassie. If you’d like to show your support for Magic Mo, you can donate to his charity The Mo Farah Foundation.
After wrapping up his show at The Edinburgh Fringe Festival, comedian Patrick Monahan will be getting ready to run the Great North Run for the Middlesbrough branch of Zoe’s Place Trust. Zoe’s Place is a home for babies and infants with life threatening conditions.
Michael Gray is a former English footballer. He’s played for Sunderland, Blackburn Rovers, Wolverhampton Wanders and Sheffield Wednesday. Michael is fundraising for Foundation of Light. Last year, the charity worked with over 40,000 young people and their families in the North East of England, using the power of football to change lives through learning, health and sport programmes.
Model Dani Lawrence is raising money for Anthony Nolan, a charity that works to save the lives of people with blood cancer. Dani and her partner Brad Jones, goal keeper for Liverpool FC are huge supporters of the charity. Dani is fundraising in memory of Brad’s son Luca, who tragically died of leukaemia in November last year.
Kenny Toal is a presenter for ITV’s Tynes Tees News. He’s fundraising for CHUF, the Children’s Heart Unit at the Freeman Hospital in Newcastle. The charity aims to raise money for equipment, facilities, aftercare and research for the unit.
