Great North Run 2010 – Fundraise online

Bupa Great North Run 2010 - fundraise online with JustGiving

The Bupa Great North Run is coming up fast,  on Sunday 19th September from Newcastle to Gateshead. We know that if you’re entering then you’ll surely get your training and equipment sorted well in advance, but how is your fundraising going?

The Great North Run is a great big chance to raise much-needed money for a cause you care about. So if you haven’t already, now’s the perfect time to start your fundraising page.

The Great North Run is the world’s biggest half marathon. Over 54,000 runners are taking part; both BBC TV and BBC Radio 5 Live will broadcast it live. Expect to see some elite runners in the running, including Haile Gebrselassie – the world’s greatest distance runner and two-time Olympic Games 10,000 metre medallist – as well as appearances from some celebrity favourites.

This year is extra special as it’s the 30th anniversary for the event, celebrated by an exhibition at the Great North Museum: Hancock in Newcastle upon Tyne currently running until October 17th, documenting the Great North Run’s elite runners, community, and organisers throughout its history.

But the day is really all about your fantastic effort – not just in running – but on behalf of one of the thousands of charities you can fundraise for.

So if you haven’t started fundraising yet,  it’s time. Creating your JustGiving page is quick and easy. It takes just 60 seconds! Why not start now?

Get that page up. We’ll supply you everything you need to hit your target fast.

  • We give you a secure, easy to manage fundraising page – so you won’t need to use valuable training time collecting cash donations.
  • We give you all the fundraising ideas and advice to share your page.
  • We have an unbeatable collection of free tools, like our apps for Facebook and iPhone, to help you reach even more sponsors with your fundraising.
  • Don’t forget to check out – and use – the very latest JustGiving fundraising innovations.

Plus we make sure your charity gets Gift Aid on every eligible donation – within 25 days.  That’s faster than any other website out there.  So not only can we help you hit your fundraising target faster, we’ll make sure your charity can make much-needed use of them faster too.

So get going and best of luck with it!  And keep an eye out for the  JustGiving team in the weeks to come.   We’ll be there on the day – and be in touch during the lead up – to cheer you on.   Make sure you say hi!

Create a JustGiving fundraising page for the Great North Run 2010 now.

UPDATE: For those of you on Twitter, we’re building a list of runners, so if you’re entering the Great North Run, send @JustGiving a tweet to let us know and we’ll add you to the list!
