Calling all London charity supporters! And your friends, family, colleagues, neighbours, pets… Come along to London’s South Bank this weekend for London’s largest free arts festival, the Mayor’s Thames Festival, and vote for one of four charities based in the capital to win a £2,000 donation from JustGiving: Kids Company, SE1 United, Training for Life and WaterAid.
But you don’t just need to tick a box. Oh no. We’ve recruited a cool “living statue” which will come to life when you vote for a charity. So keep your eyes peeled for us. We’ll be in Jubilee Gardens – track us down with this handy PDF map of the Mayor’s Thames Festival (we’re by number one on the map).
The festival takes place this weekend (Saturday 11th and Sunday 12th September), between 12 noon and 10pm and aims to bring people of all ages and communities together to celebrate young people’s creativity.
Managing Director of JustGiving, Anne-Marie Huby, says: “This is a fantastic community festival and we’re delighted to be taking part in the event whilst also pledging money for charity in a fun and creative way.”
All the fun will be unfolding on the South Bank between Westminster Bridge and Tower Bridge on the River Thames, on the river banks, and on the adjacent riverside walkways and public open spaces. It’s free to attend and the highlights (apart from our stand, of course) include the Night Carnival and fireworks by the OXO Tower on Sunday 12 September at 9.45pm.
If you’ve not been before, it’s definitely worth popping by – it’s a fantastic festival atmosphere, with loads of really fun and interesting stands.
We’ve got our fingers crossed for a sunny weekend! See you there.
