Charity clearing-house opens for marathon hopefuls

JustGiving marathon

If you’ve missed out on a ballot place but would still like to compete in the London marathon, then read on.

We’ve launched a new virtual charity clearing-house to pair runners with charities who have a guaranteed number of places for the London marathon.

Around 36,000 runners will take part in the marathon, yet the competition to secure a place is tougher than ever. More than 130,0001 have already applied through the ballot but only around 12,000 of these will be lucky enough to get a place. The remaining marathon hopefuls will be eligible to compete for places allotted to charities and will need to commit to raising a certain level of sponsorship in order to secure their place on the starting line.

Each charity will have to pay an entry fee for each runner, so participation on behalf of a charity will come with the condition that runners will raise a certain amount of money. That’s where we come in!
