Newest tools to help you raise more

Nothing gets the JustGiving office more excited than coming up with new ways for you to share your awesome fundraising. So, needless to say, we’re pretty excited to tell you about these new gems.

Facebook Recommend and Tweet

Making a donation to your JustGiving page is not the only way that your supporters can boost your fundraising. It’s all about getting your page out there and to as many potential donors as possible, so we’ve made it even easier for your supporters to help you do just that.

Facebook Recommend. At the bottom of the story on your JustGiving page, there is now the opportunity to Recommend the page on Facebook. Just one click of this and your supporters will have declared their love for your  fundraising page on their own Facebook wall, making it even easier to extending that support to friends of friends… and maybe even friends of friends of friends!

Twitter Button. Also, if your supporters have jumped on the Twitter bandwagon, they can use their Twitter account as a great way to publicise your page. Much like clicking on Facebook Recommend, they can click on the Tweet button and be fast tracked to tweeting your fundraising page to their followers. When someone clicks on the button, they’ll find a tweet already to go (that they can of course edit) handily complete with a link to your page.

QR Codes

QR CodeIf you print out a copy of your fundraising page, you’ll see that it has a great new hidden feature. Your page is now complete with it’s very own unique QR code. A QR code (much like a barcode) means that whenever you run into any potential donors, they can simply scan your page with their mobile phone and donate there and then. They will need a barcode reader application on their phone (there are tons of free apps available from all app stores) that they use to scan the QR code image on your page. Once scanned, a web page will open in their phone’s browser and the donation process has begun!

Android app

AndroidIf you have an Android phone, you can now keep track of your fundraising on the go by downloading our new Android app. Once downloaded from the Android market, you can let your supporters know all the latest goings on with your fundraising by updating your JustGiving page and uploading photos straight from your android phone. You’ll also be able to keep yourself in the loop by scheduling donation alerts so no matter where you are, you’ll know exactly who has donated as and when they do it.

Is there anyway to download the QR code so I can add it into my posters for work ect?

There isn’t a way to download the QR code from your account, but what you could do is generate a print preview of your page and then take a screen shot, cropping the image of the QR code from there.

If you need any help with this at all, please do email me with your page address. My email is helen@justgiving.com

Of course there’s a way to download the QR code, took me less than five minutes to find two… 1) View Source on the fundraising page, search for the string “printonly” (the class of its containing div element), copy the entire “data:image/jpg;base64…” string from the img tag it contains, and paste it into the address bar. 2) Just select View -> Page Style -> No Style from the menu.
Et voila, one browser tab containing a visible QR code graphic, which you can right-click on and Save Image As…
Worked for me in Firefox, don’t know about other browsers. I imagine they’ve got similar features.

Hi, I had this same question and have found a work around. All that the qr does is grab the relevant “donate” page URL. SO all you need to do is right click on your “donate now” button and copy the link location.

Once you’ve done this I suggest you use a URL shortnener (e.g. http://goo.gl/) which will make the code more basic as there are fewer characters and thus easier for smartphones to read.

Then simply paste that URL into http://qrcode.kaywa.com/ and it will create your code for you.

I hope this helps in the future.

    Regards, Felix.
