Here at JustGiving, we’re always dreaming up new ways to help you highlight the awesome fundraising work you’re doing. Check out the latest developments below.
You’ll also see the start of something really cool too. Some of our community are taking initiative and building their own cool little applications on top of JustGiving. And they’re showing some real JustGiving love by sharing them around too – so you can all use them in your fundraising. Nice, eh? The first of these, JustTweeting, is listed below. While we can’t claim responsibility (or liability) for these third-party apps, we’re loving them – and we think you will too.
On site… you’ll find these developments on the site, or within your fundraising pages.
1) A new homepage. Well, two.
We’ll be testing a few new homepages at www.justgiving.com in the coming week. Don’t worry: the changes are only superficial. Whichever homepage you see won’t change a thing about the website itself, or how it works for you. We’re just testing what pages help you get to the information you want, fastest and easiest, when you enter our site.
2) New user profiles.
|
|
This brand new addition lets you and your supporters view your entire fundraising history. To see your JustGivingprofile, just scroll down the left hand column of your JustGiving page. In the box that says “Page Owner,” your name is now a link. This clicks through to your new JustGiving profile page. Your profile contains a list of all of your fundraising pages, current and expired, and the full amount (including Gift aid) that you’ve raised for charity on JustGiving. It also highlights some of the charities you’ve fundraised for, and the latest photos and video from your fundraising page. |
A couple things though: We only show your JustGiving fundraising. It doesn’t show your donations on JustGiving. And it also won’t show pages that you’ve cancelled, or that you’ve asked us to delete from our website.
3) Photo and video carousel.

Now it’s even easier and more fun for you to share images from your fundraising. Now visitors can easily flip between up to 10 photos, and watch your video, simultaneously, so you can create a whole visual story to accompany your fundraising. You’ll find it below your main fundraising image on your JustGiving page. |
4) PayPal Mobile.
The new PayPal Mobile interface makes it easier to make a PayPal donation, right from your smartphone. You and your supporters will only notice this when donating from your iPhone.
And around the web…..keep an eye for new ways to see, and use, JustGiving…
1) JustTweeting.
![]() |
We love this one. This is from two of 2009 JustGiving Award winners (no surprise – they won the fundraising innovation award), @BigDaveSB and @SimonPainter. If you’re on Twitter and have a JustGiving page, you can schedule automatic JustGiving tweets to keep your followers on top of your fundraising progress – and where they can donate. Try it now: http://justtweeting.org.uk/connect.php |
2) Just.ly.
Ok it’s little. Literally – it’s our new JustGiving own tiny URL, courtesy of bit.ly. All it means is that that you’re going to start seeing – and being able to copy – a lot of JustGiving-branded shortened URLs across the web. They’ll look like this: http://just.ly/bqDMn3. It’s the same as the bit.ly URLs we used to use – but just makes it a little clearer where you and your supporters going to when you click on it. If you’re not already, make sure you follow @JustGiving on Twitter. http://www.twitter.com/justgiving
3) Our new Facebook app.
This has been around a few months now, and it looks like you love it. If you’re on www.justgiving.com, you and your friends – and your friend’s friends – can interact on your myJustGiving fundraising wall, receive updates in their newsfeed, and even addyou as a tab on their profile. Try it now: https://apps.facebook.com/justgivingapp/
Have a look and see what you think. And if you have any thoughts or questions on these, just add them in the comment box below. We’ll respond soon as we can.
