Longest I’ve done is 13 miles, was supposed to do 14 or 15 last weekend but I went down with the dreaded lurgy!
The run itself was not too bad, but my knees and ankles were aching from the constant strain of running for so long! I got home and into a cold bath (not quite the ice bath favoured by Paula Radcliffe) which helped a lot :)
I’m not the runner, just the whip cracker! My husband’s not done his long run yet, was meant to this week however he’s in Ethiopia with work and I’ve forbidden him – if anything’s going to finish him off I’d rather it was the marathon and not training in dubious surroundings!!
My longest run was 15 miles, I like running and as Becki said it’s not so bad, only hurts after you finish it…
Becki we should run together sometimes :)
I unexpectedly did a very long run 17 + 5 miles last Friday! check out my blog post at: http://swithunwells.com/2009/03/07/wells-to-wells-and-back-again/
I managed a 16K or 10 M last weekend. I’m more of a plodder but will get round with a run walk strategy.
This weekend I’m off to Silverstone to do the half marathon, so resting after a quickish 5K tomorrow night.
The longest run I have done so far is 17miles. I’m running the marathon with my sister. The 17 mile run was last friday which was really hot, we ended up not having enough fluids and being de-hydrated. So we’re getting our mum to meet us at certain points next time :)It’s hard work but when I get to the finishing point its a huge sense of achievement as I strugled to run 3 miles 6 months ago!
