Someone wants to save DJ Chris Moyles

BBC Radio 1 DJ Chris Moyles probably had no idea what he was setting himself up for when he complained about not having been paid in two months on his morning show earlier this week  (just a guess: having a £500,000 salary probably didn’t help inspire the public’s sympathy).

One enterprising anonymous fundraiser (Twitter feed here) decided to capitalize on the media attention around Chris’ tirade by setting a JustGiving page purportedly raising money for  a relief fund for the DJ. Jokes aside, the money raised is actually going to the charity Good Food Matters, and in just over a day the page has received £117 in donations.

Most donations are small and come with sarcastic jibes at Chris, but their money is going to support healthy cookery courses for disadvantaged youth in Croydon.
