Do you know a campaigner who should win an award?

Do you know a dedicated campaigner? Someone that’s committed to creating social, economic or environmental change. Someone that has made a difference? Then why not nominate them for the first ever Sheila McKechnice Be the Change Award.

The Sheila McKechnie Be the Change Award is awarded by the Sheila Mckechnie Foundation (SMK). It recognises and celebrates people who have dedicated themselves to tackling the root causes of injustice and unfairness. Whatever the issue, whether they are trying to improve disabled access on local transport or promote solutions to conflict, they just need to have made a difference.

SMK was set up in memory of Dame Sheila Mckechnie. The charity is dedicated to helping campaigners create positive and lasting social change.

Dame Sheila McKechnie was seen as one of the most eloquent and effective campaigners of her generation.  This special award honours her legacy and the winner will join her in SMK’s ‘hall of fame’, which will be a source of inspiration for anyone who wants to stand up and take action on issues that matter to them.

Nominations close 1pm on Monday 16th July.

You can find full details of the nomination process on the SMK website.
