We hope you’ve enjoyed watching the entries to our JustTextGiving Video Competition so far. We’ve been blown away by their creativity, sense of humour, and best of all, fun ways to fundraise with text codes! There is still time to enter – until 23rd August – so here is yet more inspiration for you to join in the fun and possibly win your charity a whopping £500 or £200 donation!
Today’s video shares another great way to fundraise with text codes: Sian printed her text code onto cardboard bottles and attached these to the balloons she received from the Stroke Association, then let them fly…
Check out Sian’s video below and if you want to increase her chance of getting a £500 donation to her fundraising page, share it with your friends, family, fans and followers. Of course, if you’d like to show Sian and the Stroke Association your support, you can text MUSH55 £5 (or £1, £2, £3, £4, £5 or £10) to 70070 or check out her page at www.justgiving.com/Sian-Gillham.
We caught up with Sian, who told us how she made the video, and what inspired her to do it:
Starring in my video was myself, I’m an Occupational Therapy Assistant working on a stroke ward in a hospital; Shona McLaren who is my friend and Lab Manager at Specsavers Opticians; Nichola Attenborough who is also my friend and Optical Assistant at Specsavers; Luke Foster did some filming he also works at Specsavers and my husband Steve Gillham who is a Farm manager/Firefighter/and undergraduate.. he also did some filming.
My idea for the video changed so many times. I had lots of balloons given to me by The Stroke Association so I thought I’d use them somehow. Then I was looking through my CD’s for some inspirational music and came across The Police, Message in a bottle. The rest just fell into place.
It took me about an hour to do the filming then I came home downloaded the Video Editing software onto my laptop and it took me a few hours to do the editing.
I’ve posted the video on Facebook and I’m letting people know at my fundraising events and at work and just asking everyone to tell everyone they know to watch it. Anyone with a half decent mobile phone could make a video. To edit it you can use Free downloadable software just type Video Editing Software into Google and you should find something easily, they come with tutorials too. This is the first time I’ve filmed/edited a video so if I can do it, anyone can.
Fancy showing off your camera skills? Do you have a cool way of promoting your JustTextGiving code? There’s still time to enter. You could win an extra £500 for your charity!
The competition is open until Tuesday 23rd August. Click here to find out exactly how to enter.
