Meet the fresh faces behind the powerful stories

The 2025 JustGiving Awards are all about celebrating the incredible stories behind the people smashing it for charity.

This year’s finalists transformed personal milestones into a community-wide campaigns, engaged millions of people online, and taken on relentless challenges. All driven by a powerful and passionate reason for wanting to make a difference.

Ru Paul’s Drag Race star Elektra Fence completed the London Marathon (twice!) in full drag for Scope, in recognition of their parents who were both born with cerebral palsy.

If you’ve already voted, you read about 11-year-old Kirsty, who crocheted one bunting triangle each week during her 70-week chemotherapy following a brain tumour diagnosis, raising over £39,000 to help other children with cancer.

You met YouTuber, commentator and racing driver Jimmy who founded virtual endurance event The Race for Mental Health, which has gained support by F1’s Max Verstappen and raised £363,000 for Mind to date.

And you learnt about David, who, at age 80, walked 1,200 miles from John O’Groats to Land’s End in memory of his wife Susan, with a goal to raise a thousand pounds for every year of her life to support Alzheimer’s disease research.
