3 campaigns that are inspiring our community
Campaigns on JustGiving enable your charity to harness the power of the crowd to fund a specific need or appeal. Much like crowdfunding, a Campaign enables your charity to rally your supporters behind a common effort and gives them the option to become advocates for you with their own Fundraising Pages.
If you haven’t organised a Campaign on JustGiving yet, where do you begin? Well, first of all you can take a look at all of the benefits and features of Campaigns here. Then take a look at some of the Campaigns other charities have launched that have inspired our vast community, helping to change lives along the way.
Walking in her shoes
CARE International’s Campaign Walk In Her Shoes 2017 encouraged supporters to put themselves in the shoes of women and girls from the poorest countries in the world, who have to walk each day to get water. Being prevented from attending school, these women are unable to break the cycle of poverty as they struggle to survive. CARE want to break this cycle, and encouraged people to donate or to fundraise and raise £100 to improve access to water. To date, 966 people have taken up the fundraising challenge, raising over £97,000 in the process.
Funding the future of medical imaging
The University of Sheffield face a £2 million hurdle to fund a state-of-the-art MRI-PET facility in Sheffield. This facility, when available, will transform the universities understanding of serious conditions including cancer, dementia, MND, parkinson’s, stroke, heart and lung diseases. Their Campaign on JustGiving has raised over £57,000 to date, thanks to 168 fundraisers and 25 individual givers.
Get meow out of here!
Holly Hedge Animal Sanctuary in Bristol, like many animal sanctuary’s, is constantly looking for new homes for unwanted or abandoned animals. Passionate in their pursuit of animal care, the sanctuary needs a steady source of funding to provide food, shelter, and medical care to the pets they house. This year has seen a kitten crisis take hold, with the sanctuary overrun by kittens and cats. To help fund the necessary supplies, they launched a Get Meow’ta Here! Campaign on JustGiving, aimed at covering some of the expenses they will be incurring and highlighting the issues they are facing. Thus far they have raised over £5,000 to help, with the bulk of contributions coming from individual donors.
