Every day we speak to people fundraising for and donating to good causes, and we know the worry and concern the outbreak of COVID-19 is causing. It can be easy for people to feel a bit lost and powerless at a time like this, so it’s important to give people clear ways to help your cause.
One way you can unite supporters is to give them a fast and effective way to fundraise for or donate to your charity. Creating a Campaign Page on JustGiving can help you to do this as it directs people to one central online hub, where they can read your campaign message and answer your rallying cry!
Many charities have already sprung into action on JustGiving and launched Campaign Pages specifically for their COVID-19 appeals. Below you’ll find inspiring examples of how charities are calling on their supporters to take action in a time of a need.
Age UK Camden Coronavirus Emergency Appeal
Age UK Camden has used their Campaign Page to launch an emergency appeal, asking supporters to provide funds that will allow them to create resilience care packs. When setting up the page, the charity set a fundraising target which displays on the top right page corner. They have then repeated their call to action and goals throughout the page, helping to really emphasise to supporters the urgency of their appeal.
PEEK, a small charity which supports families and young people through a range of community and school initiatives, has launched a new food truck to help provide meals to children whose schools have closed due to COVID-19. Their Campaign Page asks supporters for funding to help them launch and maintain the truck, utilising the image section of the page to show pictures and updates of what the donations are helping them to achieve.
#AndStillWeRide – The Bike Project COVID-19 Emergency Appeal
The Bike Project provide refugees and asylum seekers with second hand bicycles, helping them to access healthcare and food banks. The charity has used a video on their Campaign Page as a visual way of explaining the impact of their work and why they need supporter donations now more than ever.
Bethlehem Arab Society for Rehabilitation
The McCabe Educational Trust has launched a Campaign Page to support one of their partners, a hospital that is dealing with additional patients in amidst COVID-19. They have used the page to tell their story and take readers on a journey of the challenges they’re currently facing, how they’re taking action and the ways people can make a difference.
Coronavirus Emergency Homeless Appeal
Alabare Christian Care Centres has added a personal touch to their Campaign Page through including a direct quote from their service manager. They have also highlighted key statistics which demonstrate the need for their services to both current and potential new donors.
