What’s coming up in Social Media Week London 2013?

Find out how to make social work for your organisation at Social Media Week London

Laila Takeh is a busy lady. As well as heading up digital engagement at UNICEF UK and leading the organisation for London @barcampnfp, she’s kindly taken time out to guest blog for us and share her rundown of events you won’t want to miss out on at next week’s Social Media Week London 2013.

Social Media Week London is a great opportunity to hear the latest social media trends and to get insight into how organisations are making social work. Here’s my top pick for each day.

Crowdsourcing and the events industry

This presentation promises to showcase the latest trends in social, mobile and location. A great combination for any community or events fundraisers looking to add digital into activity.

Being good makes business sense

Speakers from Unilever, Havas Media, Cause4 and UNICEF UK will discuss the value of social media powered CSR for businesses and charities. Expect to hear about the successes and the challenges plus plenty of time for questions.

Social gaming: helping cure cancer and other benefits of play

Hear Cancer Research UK talk about how they’ve used gamification and people power to advance their research and to fundraise.

Connecting for good @barcampnfp workshop

A spin-off of the one-day @barcampnfp conference on digital and non-profits. The workshop will focus on finding the next big things for fundraising, campaigning and generally doing good in social media. Discussions involving all attendees will be facilitated by reps from Macmillan Cancer Support, Save the Children, WWF, JustGiving and more.

Pimp my web series: turning viewers into doers

Using video to support your charity is a great way to engage audiences. Find out from web series creators how you can get viewers to take action.
